This drawing I did thinking about the rabbit in the headlights idiom, the rabbit is stunned by the lights and thus is made motionless. The drawing top left is of Snowden and was already on the paper from a previous photocopy I made. But it works with the idea of being kept distracted and not seeing the importance of such a person. At some point I want to do a painting of this.

I've seen some computer art that was quite good, that being said I am not a fan of what some people try to pass off as art. What I am referring to here is when some famous "artist" throws paint at a canvas hung on a wall or spread on a floor and calls the result "art". It's nothing of the sort, art doesn't happen by accident. Trixies piece looks like something I would hang on the refrigerator because my grade school grandchild did it. However I can understand that people select paintings on how well they complement the color scheme of the room. The dumbing down of art is dependent more on how much effort is put into the work and the talent of the artist. The only real dumbing down is when a painter of little talent puts only a small amount of effort and thought into the product.

My son has been using photoshop since he was in the 5th grade. He now works as a graphic artist....well...he calls it something else...something like "front end" something or other...but I never remember so I just say 'graphic artist'. Mom's...eh...go figure!

Anyway, he has put a couple of programs on my puter that even a retard can do (he knows his mom when it comes to the puter...lol) and I have had fun with them. This pixel one called graphics gale is really cool!

But now I stick to doing art on my phone when I am bored waiting for appointments and such. I must say...it is more fun than candy crush! lol

Here's one I made last week. I am still learning...all those tools I don't know how to use yet...like layers...what the hell does that do...does anyone know?

Art does happen by accident, sometimes accidents in the work are left and this makes the work better, more powerful. Something else is at work, along with the artist. Full control is limited to the one controlling.

This one I drew some years ago. I was thinking about how one might deprogram oneself from the indoctrinating power of mass media. I thought there might be a place where people had worked out how to remove all those programs that you'd internalised.
