The eternalism of Minkowksi's 4D manifold is what lies at the heart of the still unresolved "observer problem" in physics because it implies the notion of the transcendent observer. In a presentist reality the transcendent observer is replaced by an immanent observer who then becomes interwoven into his observation by constructing a facsimile of it in his consciousness. In my view the word "illusion" is too emotionally laden a term to describe this facsimile constructed by the observer when a more precise word is available in the modern parlance. In a presentist reality the observer observes a HOLOGRAM and it is this hologram that Einsteinian physics is modelling.
