I thought you said it all a simulation, what need for physical clones?

Sci-fi, Rapture of the Nerds is the dream of uploading oneself into smart-matter.

Seems like a nightmare. Videogames are boring enough, imagine living in such a plain world. All complexity of thought, but no complexity of reality to interact with.

You would be interacting with the world? Just not with this body.
p.s.
My apologies, what's a 'virtual' clone that needs DNA?

The simulation would have to be advanced enough to synthesize the process of virtual life based on DNA data. The process is not at current Earth technology capabilities, but of course once they use it they will abuse it and cause much strife, as they so love to do.

What does this, "synthesize the process of virtual life", mean?

Who's this 'they'?

The humans. Basic jist is to get all of the DNA codons and from that create a simulation that creates virtual avatars based on the DNA configuration. It would have to generate avatar traits based on a set of DNA rules. Do I recommended they do this? No a virtual world would be boring.

No more boring than this one?

Nope it would be even more boring.

Since when has suffering been boring?

Boredom is a form of suffering, people say they like videogames but only the dweebiest of dweebs would actually want to live out the rest of their lives in one.

I thought you said the universe is already one? But it wouldn't be a video game just a transfer from this body to a smart-matter one. Still can interact with the universe just at another level and also at a hell of a faster rate.
