I use the term we for I believe I'm the de facto leader of this motley crew here at the PhilosophyNow Forums.
I know you in particular are literal and I know the terms I must use must throw you off. Can't help that. There is an emptiness that is soooo very vast. I feel tremendous empathy to those around me in our shared brevity. There is a pain. A gnashing. Horrible abrasion inside.
Are we dead? Is this entire life that we know actually just a dancing of corpses?

NPD and a Gnu to boot.
And the reason I know this is because you conspicuously fail to respond to my points.
I know you in particular are literal and I know the terms I must use must throw you off.
Not at all, as if you'd pay attention you'd see I address them but then you are just a Gnu and as such you have no intention of philosophically addressing what you write as you actually write them for effect and that effect is to try and become an internet gnu, a la Satyr, but you will never attain his giddy heights as you do not have the will to make the intellectual effort.
Can't help that. There is an emptiness that is soooo very vast. I feel tremendous empathy to those around me in our shared brevity. There is a pain. A gnashing. Horrible abrasion inside.
Nah! That's just you and all those who have not bothered to read what Western Philosphy has said.
Are we dead? Is this entire life that we know actually just a dancing of corpses? [/size]
Nah! But it's choc-a-block with gnus trying to make us such so they can assuage their empty existence.

I do respond to your points.
You are critical of my every statement, which is fine, it allows me to choose which point of your's is the most important and worthy of my attention.
Hope you understand.

Perhaps emptiness is actually insight. And I am approaching god-like status.

Nah! Just another in a long-line of delusional gnus.

I like Bill, you do like characters on forums, you have to, genuinely love the silliness, because we are all quite dull at the end of the day and a creative mind is inspiring, but without meaning to sound demeaning, by which I mean I will sound demeaning or I wouldn't of used the proviso without: is Bill on crack?
Love that guy, and I'll have what he's having.

Thank you for this distinction.
As I have delineated upon another thread, I take this distinction quite seriously.
We CHARGE! Into 2015 with the distinction of being part of the GREATEST philosophy web site that is or has EVER been upon this planet!
WITH distinctions!

Hi Bill,
Emptiness without compassion is empty.
Compassion moved he knows the noble path
By which before the Sorrow's Sea was crossed,
Will be in future, and is crossed just now.
Meditation, 2 components:
1. Wisdom (emptiness)
2. Compassion (merit)
Or so it is said...

I like your post and I appreciate you taking this thread seriously.
I'm not sure I understand completely what you meant.
Are you are saying I need to do more? Meditate more completely? Be more compassionate?
...or are you saying that what I am experiencing is part of the path or a path?

Will do as soon as I get my books back from storage as I found a clue as to why Adams chose 42 in one of them.

Of course could be wrong but it did strike me as a big coincidence.

What we understand about philosophy...what we understand about our being, we carry with us.
Don't bother obtaining another book.

Pay attention at the back there!!
I already own this book and all I'm referring to is the meaning of life - 42.
Nice picture, reveals once again your need to revel in the pain and possible demise of others. What a nice being you are.
