You're a very strange person, yeah I know what social welfare is but does the fact the US gives welfare to the most poor mean the US is socialist or communist? Does free schooling till age 18 mean you might as well paint the US flag red and put a hammer and cycle on it?bobevenson wrote:I'm not talking about taxation, I'm talking about the government taking money from one person by way of taxes, and giving it to another person by way of a handout. That's Communism or Socialism, take your pick, sucker!Blaggard wrote:The government doesn't forcibly take money from people and give it to others so it's just meaningless waffle. I get it you don't want to pay tax because you see it as robbery. Still makes no fucking sense to call taxation communism though. In that case every country in the world with the exception of those who don't have tax systems are communist which is patently nonsense.bobevenson wrote: Care to address my comment that you think it's OK for the government to forcibly take money from one person and give it to another? That's the basis of Communism or Socialism, my friend.
Your politics is so partisan that you have no real political perspective it seems.
Also the government gives you a choice you can either pay taxes or you can go to a country which doesn't pay taxes, it's not like they are forcing you to live in the US because you can quite easily leave at any time, so the idea that they forcibly steal your money and give it to others is a nonsense, its tea party rhetoric and it's also bullshit as usual. Two places that spring to mind are Cyprus where they don't pay tax, or in England there's Jersey. In fact most countries have easily accessible places you can move to if you don't want to pay tax, so why bitch about it, just move to a tax haven, there's many in the Caribbean for example.
Luxembourg—primarily a conduit tax haven[29]
Other sovereign countries that have such low tax rates and lax regulation that they can be considered semi-tax havens are:[30]
Ireland[31]
Netherlands—primarily a conduit tax haven[29]
Non-sovereign jurisdictions commonly labelled as tax havens include:
Jersey[32]
Isle of Man
British Overseas Territory
Bermuda[33]
British Virgin Islands[34][35]
Cayman Islands[36]
Delaware, United States[37]
Puerto Rico (United States)[38]
