Maybe he did, but it's really just a matter of perspective, isn't it? As the current state of mans brain is a result of mutations due to environment, called evolution, such that it could be that, that which he feared may 'mess up' his brain, is actually that which made possible, that which he feared 'messing up,' or not. Just to point out how one must proceed, while trying to quantify the truth of things. But bias is in fact everywhere, and hard to navigate, as one says they know, and the other takes their word for it, not being physically capable, of researching everything, not enough time, so mans actual knowledge is spread out over millennia, as he slowly defeats the bias of belief, so as to finally know, or not?![]()
Jean-Paul Sartre did a lot of mescaline and other drugs. I think opinion is divided between those who think he took drugs as part of his investigations into phenomenology, and those who think he took drugs as an aid to his concentration when writing. Maybe both are true.
Sartre did have drug-induced hallucinations that he was being followed around Paris by lobsters. I'm not making this up.

And there you go folks! A living example of why drugs are bad for you as they can induce delusional states.Bill Wiltrack wrote:...

Can you just openly confirm this for me?

No it's not, I saw the documentary. Actually almost all of the recent study group, that took the DMT, which is naturally occurring, in nerve tissue, so then can be said to have something to do with consciousness, though it's not fully understood at this point, said they experienced these fantastic vistas, and edition most said they left it with more of a sense of spirituality. Understand this: I have actively campaigned for the liberalisation of our drug laws. One of the main reasons why this has been so slow in happening is that many of the people on the liberalisation side of the argument are full of daft ideas, like this idea about DMT giving you a "sense of spirituality".

Have you watched that documentary? As there is much more to it than merely, a "sense of spirituality." It edifies in various ways, but one has to pay attention to everything that is said. For instance I found the question of how the ancient civilizations came to understand how to harness the power of these various plants, possibly over 10,000 years ago, to be quite interesting, as it may pertain to our evolution of mind.Toadny wrote:Understand this: I have actively campaigned for the liberalisation of our drug laws.
