I cannot stress strongly enough that in order to have people actually take our threads seriously we should make a good faith attempt to present our threads in the widely agreed upon format common to almost all threads on almost all philosophy forums.

If we instead repeatedly ignore the ongoing complaints of readers on multiple philosophy forums, it would be logical and in keeping with solid philosophical reasoning to expect that instead of the reasoned engagement we seek, we'll instead earn more complaints for our efforts.

I would have to agree it can be a challenge to take any of the philosophy forums too seriously, but it's also true that folks don't go to philosophy forums in hopes of finding the Cartoon Network.

The style in which you present your ideas is the equivalent of a fart joke, so you are being irrational if you expect much more than farting in reply.

In the coming virtual reality utopia, you'll be able to actually smell the awful aroma of my vote in agreement with Bob.
As you can see, it is impossible to insult Bill or get him to change his ridiculous style.

Felasco that was rather uncharitable and narrow minded. To skim over a person's words, without digesting, it is certain you will miss the essence.

How does interactive communication differ from face to face communication in a fundamental sense. There are limits. Bill has created his own unique method to compensate for this impediment via the internet. Anyone who has an appreciation for "art" knows that to restrict or change the artist's method chokes the desire to create.

This is Bill's way and has been for quite a few years, if you care to look back over this Forum.

I welcome a different approach.

Bob, we tolerate your Ouzo approach, why can't you be tolerant towards others, in their quest for individuality.

a) I'm sorry, but if you can tolerate Bill's approach of posting stupid links without making some kind of comment or point, and wasting I don't know how much space in doing it, you must be the reincarnation of Mother Teresa, and b) Ouzo doesn't have an approach, so there is nothing to tolerate, and I'm sorry, but you don't get any credit for not understanding it unless you actually make the effort, and I have not seen any indication of anybody doing this.

Don't apologise Bob. What I meant is we tolerate your repetitive promotion of Ouzo. I, for one, love your Ouzo creation. Is that a better choice of word? I am trying here.

I'd rather have Patience and Prudence (they've grown up, you know, and the nice thing is they've lost most of that patience and prudence hang-up).

Words are like a drug...only the more words you use, the less effective they are.

When you allow words and thoughts to lead you, you end up chasing the dragon.

Upon the evolution of Hydrogen through man, it seems as though some chemicals or drugs give us an aura of completion.

This aura guides mankind.

so it is wise to choose carefully, which is almost always the difficult path to take.

When you allow words and thoughts to lead you, you end up chasing the dragon.

and panic sets in.

This aura guides mankind.

Is this aura intangible or is it a sensation.

I agree, that was my intent.
To skim over a person's words, without digesting, it is certain you will miss the essence.
I agree with Bob, there is no essence to Bill's posts.
This is Bill's way and has been for quite a few years, if you care to look back over this Forum.
Yes. For years. In great volume. On multiple philosophy forums. Despite repeated requests and complaints from many posters.

He has a right to continue, we have a right to continue complaining. Everybody has their special posting style. :-)

What does this video, in my original post, speak to you?

Are you able to see drug usage and the need for drugs as something that is inherent in man?

Who, in this video, most represents Jesus?

The father.
