Yes, but you don't say what "due process entails." But I did. I found out for you. And it means that the government only needs to allow them to have representation and protest, if they choose to do so. It's not much more than that.FlashDangerpants wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 4:53 pm I never said the government has no power to deport, I said they had to do so in accord with due process.
So what are you whining about? If any illegal alien actually thinks he has a case to stay, he can opt for representation. But the majority will not have any case at all, of course. So they can be deported summarily.
So essentially, you've been protesting nothing. Typical Lefty: all pose, and no substance.

There's nothing "edgy" about deporting criminals that invaded your country illegally. It's the basic right of any country: when attacked, you have a perfect right to defend yourselves with proportional responsive measures.Alexis Jacobi wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 4:57 pm ...this will require going right up to the edge of the law.
You're not shooting people. You're not even incarcerating people unless they've also been caught being criminal...in which case, you have just cause. All you're doing is putting them on an airplane and sending them home. It's about the softest response a country could possibly make, and totally justified. What would be more reasonable?
There's nothing "edgy" about it at all.

I knew what due process was when I raised the matter, you were the one who thought it was only for citizens.Immanuel Can wrote: ↑Sat Apr 19, 2025 6:49 pm"Due process" applies to citizens only. All I said was "Due process was denied, the situation must be remedied" and you went to war over that because of your ignorance in this area. Now you seem to be caught up that I was right and you were wrong, be a decent person about it and just accept that.

Apparently not. All you could do is yell "due process" when I asked you to specify it. And now we find out it amounts to practically nothing.FlashDangerpants wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 10:56 pmI knew what due process was when I raised the matter,...Immanuel Can wrote: ↑Sat Apr 19, 2025 6:49 pm"Due process" applies to citizens only. I gave you a video to explain due process. I gave it to you a lot of times. It really isn't practically nothing by the way, it's a matter of incredible importance.Immanuel Can wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 11:17 pmApparently not. Also, you told me I was wrong and it was only for citizens, so why did you later on ask what it was?

They can have representation and object IF they have grounds. Most invading aliens don't have any grounds. So for them, "process" is pretty darn simple: there's nothing they can do, and nothing they should be able to do. That's the process.FlashDangerpants wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 11:20 pmI gave you a video to explain due process. I gave it to you a lot of times. Awesome, you are again on the cusp of understanding. Now you understand why it is so wrong to deprive people of due process, right? It's nothing grand, it's just the thing that everyone is entitled to, so that is why we make rules saying you cannot take it away from people.Immanuel Can wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 11:30 pmThey can have representation and object IF they have grounds. Bad luck Walker, Immanuel Can now understands why you are wrong and I am right.Walker wrote: ↑Sat Apr 19, 2025 3:59 pmNo. You just don't understand the separation of powers in the constitution because the Left has corrupted them, for so long.FlashDangerpants wrote: ↑Sat Apr 19, 2025 3:55 pmThe man was denied due process and illegally sent abroad without ever getting an opportunity to face his accusers in court. - The Trump administration has not denied that the return would be facilitated, should that be desired by El Salvador.
- However it is not up to the Supreme Court if the man should be returned.
- The Supreme Court does not have authority over the world.
- Whether or not he should be returned is up to El Salvador.
- El Salvador says he should not be returned, and will not not be returned, and that's the name of that tune.
You are a collaborator in the collapse of America's rule of law and the erosion of its right to consider itself a civilised nation. Later on you will want to say that nobody could see it coming and none of it was your fault. But it was clearly visible, and you joined in quite willingly.

I said that going after criminal organizations will necessarily involve going right up to the edge of what is legal. The object is to do things in accord with the nation’s laws, but the object is to destroy the gangs and do harm to them through all available means. It often is a dirty business.IC: There's nothing "edgy" about deporting criminals that invaded your country illegally. The Trump administration — I think unintelligently — is doing the right things in ways that are not good. I think this going after gangs business is theatre in many ways (not completely, partially) but I definitely support it. Nothing is gained by doing things brusquely. A proper, legal approach will work.
They are giving tons of ammunition to the side that reflexively opposes any actions the administration takes. That is unwise. Soon the mid-terms will be here.
The US is a nation of laws and with robust Constitutional protections. I gather that you do not understand how bad this looks. Better to do things very carefully.

All you're talking about is that they can object through representation if they have grounds for it. And most of them have no grounds for it. So you're talking about nothing. Nothing.FlashDangerpants wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 11:35 pmNow you understand why it is so wrong to deprive people of due process, right? Amazing. You had nothing to object to, and you're still objecting.

Are you quite sure your investigations into due process, which appears to be something you only learned about at all this weekend, have been very good? You seem not to understand it very well. Yet again, here I gift you a link to a sub 10 minute video that will give you a basic grounding in this matter.Immanuel Can wrote: ↑Tue Apr 22, 2025 12:51 amAll you're talking about is that they can object through representation if they have grounds for it. WSJ today:
In the Mexican border city of Ciudad Juárez, large groups of migrants marching toward the U.S. have all but halted. Migrant encampments are disappearing, and few people are trying to sneak across remote desert areas to start new lives in the U.S.
“There’s no more hope for entering legally as long as Donald Trump is there, and anyone telling you otherwise is lying,” said Yorman Briceño, a Venezuelan migrant staying at a church-run shelter in Ciudad Juárez.
Illegal crossings at the southern border are at their lowest levels in decades, a trend that began in the final year of the Biden administration and has continued under President Trump.
Border-security experts say that crossings often fall with changes of policy or administration, but also frequently rise as migrants and human smugglers adjust. Still, experts say the current reversal at the border is startling.
