Is the mind the same as the body? What is consciousness? Can machines have it?

I write according to the rules of art. Take for example writers follow the art of enchanting the mind they must learn the differences of people, there are so many people and of such natures.

Also, writers must first have a good theoretical reasoning and experience, not till then are they authors. All the great arts require discussions of high speculation; hence come loftiness of thought. Knowing is the instrument by which all writers get enlightenment. For knowledge is not the divergence of the light, but the light itself by which the truth comes in contact but if knowledge is removed there lays empty intention.

Mind enchantment....enhancement....enchancement...
What place 'chance' in the 'rules' ?

Why did you take the name of the forum for your thread ?
It seems grandiose. and 'vainness'....does it really flee or flow from your mind to bring about... [what ? ]....the realization of reason ?

The reason is as obvious as the rhyme.

This knowledge was before I was born, I am not only speaking of knowledge, but of beauty, goodness, justice, holiness, all stamped with the name of essence.

Knowledge is acquired by the use of the senses we recover that which was previously known, thi is learning a process of recovering what some may be rightly term recollection.

In 1972 I was introduced to philosophy because of a book on a shelf in the living room of an ex philosophy professor. There were a batch of impressive looking books on the shelf. One caught my eye. the book was “Reason and Reveolution” by Marcus I asked to borrow it. 1976 I received my first diary book as a gift I ended up by 1995 writing 17 books about all the resistance I encounted trying to write philosophy. At Last but not least in 1984 I began to read and write Hegel’s Philosophy of Nature . This was all in order by chance all through this I knew I wanted to increase my love of knowledge further.

In love all is bound together through arts, the sacrifices and mysteries and charms, and all, prophecy and incantation find their way.

Hi again !

B: In 1972 I was introduced to philosophy because of a book on a shelf in the living room of an ex philosophy professor. M: In 1972, in my thirst to know more, I bought a book called ' Philosophy Made Simple'. I'm not even sure if I made it to the end. In 1972, I kept a journal, because I was ill and had nothing better to do. Amongst other entries eg The Olympics and Donny Osmond, I collected quotes about ' Time'. Not, I'm afraid the capturing of my thoughts - far too intimate and sensitive....however, I admire people who do this. Without them, would we have philosophy ?
Thanks, Barbara, for this.

You may not think you are a poet, but at times your words do chime.

You said you write ' according to the rules of art' : what are they ? is it that ' there are no rules ? '
Do all the 'greats' break the rules ? of grammar, of society, of proportion, of harmonious sound ? But what of the 'not so greats', who still create, are they destined for the 'Arts Bin' ?

I wonder often of the great unreads.

Your 'chance' ? mis-spell made me think of Marcus Aurelius, an easy read for me ; your 'Reveolution' of 'dreams and evolution'.

M,

Thank you for your kind words.

Writers have the power as Solon or Darius did of attaining everlasting authorship.

The writer should know truth. Socrates believed telling a lie is most serious makes it impossible knowing and not knowing the face of a friend and of an enemy. For then one cannot judge what is figurative and what is literal; anything received into mind is likely to become indelible and unalterable; and therefore virtuous thinking is most important. Even if the way is long and circuitous don’t fret for where the end is great must take the longer way.

All artists should not try to please anyone but God. The pleasure of art is the pursuit, which is not so far from heaven’s pleasure, or more so called desired sweetness. In affect writing and all art is an action both divine and human. All art God mingle in as the go-between who crosses the gulf and all is bound.

Zeno of Elea created the art of language by which he made the same things appear to his hearers, like and unlike, one and many, at rest and in motion. He demonstrated likeness of everything to which a likeness can be found, and drew into the light of day likenesses and unlikeness that are used by all a dialogue is the same in every use of language.

All art and language are divine. Thrasymachus described language to be easy or hard by showing how one mind form of argument persuades and another is not persuaded.

Language is so that we may be able to say what is acceptable to God and always to act acceptably to God as far as we can.

The writer has the power of attaining immortality knows about that which is being written. Words are not hastily to be dismissed. The art of discussion language is the same in every society as the greatest of heaven's blessings. Words are not thrown down anyhow having no reason are not just something that comes to mind. It is the natural gift of God. Little things elaborated how absurd. Those who want to be writers and all art must take a long and winding road, nothing short should please them, or they will lose sight of the higher truth where all things become useful, advantageous, and good.

If the way is longer and more circuitous doubt not at this for where the end is great may take a longer path.

Writing is like painting impressions an attitude of life, and yet if you ask the words a question they conserve a solemn silence. Words written down tumbled about anywhere among those who may or may not understand them. Words are battered, and abused, and no parent to protect them ;or can words defends himself or herself.

The art of using language is skillful in the art of enchanting the mind one has to learn the differences of the human mind and have a conjectural idea of words and experience of them, Language is the greatest of heaven's blessings, divine and human, we try to ascertain the truth.

When I was young, I would mimic other people’s words instead of looking them up the word up in the dictionary. Then I began to look up every word I did not know which was many, I would write down the meaning in order to remember.

Like any perfection of anything, philosophy must be partly a given by nature but also assisted by art. If you have a natural power and add to it knowledge and art, you will be a distinguished philosopher but if fall short in either you will be to that extent not a philosopher.

Truth brings to bear working and actualizing comes into being when all that is present is factual. In other words, truth brings to light and establishes something good and eternal.

It is not found in the field of opinion, not a matter of clever turns, allusiveness phrases, or half utterances but explicit meaningful purposeful knowledge.

Grasp that there is a conscious universal end that dominates our actions, universally lifts us out of the life of chance and change, into world peace and universality, only then that love of knowledge and truth has real and substantial character.
That is truth framed by the mind tested by the senses in other words, the bare reason of being. "I think, therefore I am”. Only when self comes forward asserts not just certainty of itself but reason,

Self-preservation in the sea of despair in the face of pressure from impact is really all we have to stand on, only the float to get through the inhumanity confronting these days.

Socrates believed the need to make sure no disorder occurs in mind and to feed on noble thoughts and pray. Also, not to be dazzled by thoughtless praise stacked on humankind.

Ethical order within self creates a fair society where simple universality is realized has worked its way out of indifference and unfeeling into world-spirit, wisdom, and insight makes an appearance. Socrates believed an ethical society is the pulse of philosopher takes effort in reaching concord, beauty, good, and magnificence. Philosophers if they want to do their work in life must make these, beauty and grace; and good into everything that flows like a gentle wind from a purer region.
The task of philosophy to reawaken the mind spirit, which has fallen into such disunity in such a way citizens roam wildly unfettered without ethical order.

Ethics is essentially as much spiritual as it dominates action of community set outside the family, Living in the world; must not be taken as if it were merely an act of experience The ethical act is a process of knowledge and must be substantial in character and universal that lifts self out of the life of chance and change, into world simple universality peace.

That is if philosophers want to do their work in life. They must make these their continuous aim the true nature of the beauty and grace; and receive the good and beauty in everything shall flow like a gentle wind from a purer region, into likeness with reason.

A mind rightly educated is the philosopher, who is noble and good, and reason they will recognize and salute.
That is why musical training is a most effective instrument into the mind of a philosopher, because rhythm and harmony find grace. Music is just as learning to read; we cannot perceive the importance, but eager to make them known. Only when the musician knows the letters exactly can we ever become musical and know the essential forms of temperance, courage, liberality, magnificence, and their kindred when a beautiful mind harmonizes with the fairest of sights to the philosopher who has an eye to see it. The fairest is also the loveliest is the philosopher they have that spirit of harmony are in love with the loveliest.
There is perfection all lovers of knowledge ought to reach and ought to attain, and not to fall short. Today few schools utilize true knowledge because they are hard to learn without direction. A director can hardly be found, but even as matters now stand, the student today most would not attend to them because most are conceited, and think they know everything.

Today society has fallen into such disunity becomes the task of philosophers to undo this wrong and reawaken mind spirit.

An ethical society meaning a conscious society living together for common good must be reawakened lifting out of chance and change into real and substantial common good spiritual community outside family is substantial.

Ethics dominates action outside the family, has substantial character and universally lifts society out of the life of chance and change, into world peace, and universality; it is only as citizens that we are real and substantial.

That is world-spirit stands in contrast to individuality acts ethically to carry out action of all individuals. World spirit is conscious life, this comes collective feelings and rises out of unkindness into the conscious universal world spirit.

Socrates believed an ethical society is the pulse of philosophy, it takes effort in reaching that is if if philosophers want to do their work in life. Philosophers be forever directed towards things that are all in order moving toward knowledge and truth, which is reason.

Good and bad has the same rhythm and harmony as of musical training it naturally assimilate to good and bad actions good imparts grace, makes mind rightly educated, noble.

Philosophers must make good their continuous conviction in life will be the fairest of sights. The philosopher rightly educated become graceful, noble and good, and reason arrives they will recognize and salute it. Socrates believed that until good bear rule society and citizens will not rest from bad behavior, nor will a good ever be realized?

The idea of good is the highest knowledge even though most people think pleasure to be the good but it is knowledge.

It is knowledge, which carries out good, and without good, we animal natures would be perplexed of truth. Without knowledge there would be void of truth only sense-certainty, only mere perceptions that vanish is an inaccurate witness.

Philosophy the spectator of all time just, and gentle lodges in the philosopher’s heart is good. Their happiness depends upon the better elements of the mind lead to order and reason and frees the virtuous elements of happiness; now is there any greater blessing than friendship and pleasure burst with passion.

Then good turns out to be the activity that is more valuable than knowledge, fwhich merely carries out good.

What presides over justice and good is knowledge It is justice that has the most complete mastery over the whole human being conveys harmony, friendship and truth of fellow human beings, but injustice creates division and hate and fighting.

Good t requires intellectual discipline and unwearied solid person or he or she will never be able to endure the study. The sweetness of learning, embraces freethinking and absolute reason; a philosophical mind always loves knowledge of a sort that shows truth not so far from the heaven of pleasure.

Come visualize from the standpoint of dialectic philosophy mind perfect in form and possessed by every one, offered to everyone, and made plain for all.

The mind naturally summons the aid of calculation and intelligence it has the power and capacity of gaining knowledge and understanding. All exists in mind already as images dwelling in mind imprinted by feelings. Mind is supreme ruler, autonomous, self-determining, feeling, perceiving, reasoning, willing.

Mind consists in the two forms, consciousness, and self-consciousness. One distinguishes and other imprinted by the intervention of ideas is derived reason.

Little by little raise our mind to knowledge. Spinoza asserted that knowledge is oneness of thought. This difficult requisite is without a doubt c challenge because desires prevail over thought.

If dialectic knowledge were given honor there could be continuous and earnest research and discoveries because even now as disregarded as dialectic philosophy is forces its way by natural appeal, and very likely some day will emerge into light.

With careful thought comes truth and compassion, this is dialectic philosophy and is most good. The love of learning is the love of knowledge, which is gentle good and noble mind. What are required are courage, quickness, and well being.

The highest truth worthy of attaining is good. Only by good do all things become of use and to your advantage. The idea of good is the spirit of dialectic philosophy.

What is the actual acquirement of knowledge? In fact knowledge comes on the scene, and liberates the pathway of mind pressing forward to truth and spiritual self-consciousness a true phenomenon.

Grasp the whole truth and you will have no difficulty in understanding the preceding remarks. If knowledge does not intervene we can never be assured of anything.

Seeing, hearing, do not give assurance of truth, in mind contain within only a fabric of the nerves and muscles causes wakefulness, sleep and dreams; light, sounds, smells, tastes, heat. In addition, all other various ideas pertaining to being are imprinted on it by the intervention of senses.

Knowledge comes on the scene agitates the thoughtless restless mind, knowledge disturbs the indolence, mind suffers is over thrown therefore it is a road of uncertainty, or more properly the highway of anguish for the sake of truth.

Philosophy is immediate consciousness that stands in contrast over against individuality which shapes and preserves by labor universal ends. What is a seed but something simple, something, which contains in it multiple qualities, hidden not yet the real, merely abstract. For to be something distinct, thought being like water must be clear, transparent, and still, contain within physical, chemical, and organic possibilities.
