Re: What music are you listening to?

I prolly posted this already and it's a shame I'm still posting this old shit but i have new fans here and a new audience, so naturally u repost your demo material. What I need tho is a musical reawakening but I just can't get inspired bruh. But if I just suddenly had a little electric drum kit and a four track and shit, I'd be all excited and get into it and record some decent shit once in a while. I need the stuff and an apartment to put it in man. So this is me practicing the song over the song on my homeboy's drums. It's Rush's La Villa Strangiato.

It was intended to be played by the dudes i was playin with but i couldn't possibly do the whole song (nobody we knew in our circle could), fills and changes included. Clearly the song was out of my league and u can hear me struggling... especially that fuckin right footed bass drum i have to play like a retard becuz it's a right handed/footed kit... and those horrible accent cymbal crashes i do (that neil doesn't do at all why did I do that crap) are absolutely cringe. But i could hold the basic two major melodies okay until the changes came with those ridiculous fills neil always does.
Also King Crimson's Larks Tongues In Aspic 2. Another practice song. Never ended up playing it but could have becuz we had it pretty much down with the exception of me not being able to do what Bruford is doing with that bass drum becuz of my screwy left footedness. But i could substitute a straighter beat that while simpler, would work. In fact Buford played a straight 4/4 through that last part live before so technically I didn't cheat. Clearly that part in the song is harder to reproduce live becuz of the way the drums are mixed (studio version on album)... so u just play straight through it, etc.
