"Occupying Wall Street" is a joke, and a bad one at that. The next phase will be for them to join a union and extort money from everybody else.

To broaden my perspective on the mob occupations and group-think, I'm rereading Gustav Le Bon's classic book,
The Crowd.

To my delight, I got the book as a free Kindle book. Amazon provides an app for your PC so that you can get Kindle books.

It is not surprising that one leader-elite spectacularly taking down another leader-elite (of the opposition), preaching to the choirs, attracts the same Hippies in the same droves as in the 60s, when the parents' generation had to be annihilated. Now it is about fellow Hippies who DID make it to the top or didn't fall down yet.
For
example Jeffrey Sachs taking down Tim Geigner and others. Notice how towards the end he uses his elite power-distance to motivate the crowd to support his interests against his adversaries.
Acquiring mandates for their success this way, has always been the secret weapon of the elites and as soon as one is taken down, the other puts itself up there. Tea Partiers are against elites, period, because they think and judge for themselves and just follow, not 'lead', whoever earns their attention for the RIGHT reasons.

More just a general expression of how annoyed the public are about how the banks have taken the cash and are just hoarding it, whilst still paying themselves their bonuses. It was a very bad idea to socialize the banks risk.

Who the hell says that a person or a bank that has money is under some obligation to lend it to ANYBODY? If you have money and want to lend it, fine, if you don't, it's nobody else's business unless you're a goddamn socialist!!!

Not me mate! I'd have let them collapse, nationalised the savings arms, fired the investment wings, guaranteed all savings, forgiven all debtors and then recapitalised just the savings banks. In the nationalised savings banks I'd have kept the interest high on loans and low on savings to encourage the start-up of new banks and sold them on as soon as the economy recovered.
You on the other hand appear to be a socialist when your capitalists fuck-up, hence you bail them out with the public's money.
So yes, I think we do have a say in those banks that took our cash to stay afloat. But I don't think we have any say in Barclays who went to sovereign Arab funds to stay afloat.

Bailouts are wrong in America or anywhere else, and have nothing to do with free-market capitalism.

Free market capitalism results in a situation where sectional interests polarise wealth into an ever decreasing circle where the poor get poorer and the rich get richer.
The supreme consequence of such a system is best exemplified by imperial Rome where personal freedom was alienable, and the wealth and the power that accompanied it was focused on the imperial authority.

The trouble with you is that you seem to think that the rich get rich by stealing from the poor. I suppose you think that great Americans like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs became billionaires this way. What an idiot you are! Now you take the Queen of England, I think she's a billionaire and never did a lick of work in her life. Talk about stealing from the poor!

You are dreaming, my friend! As far as I can see, you have a bunch of malcontents trespassing on private property, causing a disturbance, and not having the slightest idea of what they are doing or why. It's a mob mentality that will lead nowhere.
