I don't think you should underrate The Good the Bad and the Ugly. I think they were plagiarised from Japanese movies yes, but they had a certain charm.
Try perhaps
Yujimbo and
The Seven Samurai a movie obviously exactly the same as the magnificent 7, perhaps that understanding that they were homages to such great films will repair the damage done by Spaghetti Westerns?

I think all the series of westerns done by Sergio Leone are among the best films of all time. And I mean for its pure cinematic techniques. It's odd that Italians made best westerns than Americans themselves (leaving John Ford aside). This starting scene from Once Upon a Time in the West has very few words spoken (and oh boy, how they are spoken), but the images do most of the job:

Yeah one great movie that, but it's not a movie thread, but you can still post some music some great music if you will and tie it to some great movie.
It's not a law that you can only post music, it's lore that you can only post something that ties into great music.

Utterly amazing film and the soundtrack is sublime. I don't think anyone could keep an honest or straight face, or not cry when watching that film unless they had no soul.

yeah and wow great music.
You wont get my one unless you have seen the movie. It's so heartbreaking though, I've seen many good movies but that one truly did make me weep. And I have not cried in 30 years. It just brings out the human in you. Fantastic acting, but so much soul too.
I'll give you a clue it's a Japanese POW film. Jack Celliers really carried it. If you know who that is you may weep too.

I couldn't guess, but I looked it up on the internet and now it goes into my list of "films to watch".
This was one of my favorites from Kubrick's last film (it got mixed reviews, but I really liked it, and just seeing gorgeous Nicole was enough):

The only time I saw Bowie in a movie was in The Hunger, with Sarandon and Deneuve. One cool film, I will not say it was extraordinary, but fun to watch.

Not a bad film as it goes: The Hunger. you probably missed
The Man Who Fell to Earth though. I would genuinely recommend Merry Christmas Mr Lawrence though if you like any moral stories this is one you will not soon forget. Japanese Director, starred by an English cast. It is one to watch.
The Man Who Fell To Earth is one of the few sci-fi films that can justifiably call itself brilliant. But what makes it so brilliant, you ask? It's certainly not the story, which is merely about an alien coming to earth in order to save his dying planet. The performances are excellent, but actors alone cannot make a film brilliant. Perhaps what makes The Man Who Fell To Earth brilliant is the thing that causes people to despise it: it has no plot. That's right. It's alot like a David Lynch movie; there are bizzare characters, bizzare dialogue, and bizzare situations, but barely any trace of a followable plot. The film manages to carry a thin story with almost no plot whatsoever and be consistently interesting and entertaining throughout. On top of that, it's all stunningly photographed. There is quite a bit of sex in this movie, but the sex is done so stylistically we hardly notice how pornographic it is. For instance, in one scene near the end of the film, Bowie wields a pistol loaded with blanks like a phallus. The scene than erupts into a bizzare sex scene filled with flashing strobe lights, full frontal shots of Bowie, and the gun firing randomly off. The Man Who Fell To Earth is essential viewing(unless of course movies that are hard to follow or a naked David Bowie aren't your thing).
The boys are back in town. What a sublime artist so sad that an Irishman had died.

A bit corny, but who can help it?:
Marinero de Luces (Sailor of Lights). This was Isabel Pantoja's first performance after the tragic death in the bullring of her husband, famous bullfighter Francisco Rivera (aka Paquirri). After that she became known as the "widow of Spain".
I just happen to love the break in Isabel's voice (so typical of Andalucia singers), which in this case reinforces her emotional state.
