Spirits living forever especially those infesting other minds - new or not - reminds me of stories by H.P. Lovecraft.

Yes, I sometimes marvel at how dead people whose memories I respect know nothing about this pandemic, or the present strength of electronic communications, or changes among the more trivial moral tenets, or the imminent death of our natural environment. And still I look to what these people would have said about these novel developments.
