You can't tell the difference between "past" and "future" inside the block.

There you go interpreting it incorrectly again.

The block universe says the future and the past is encoded in the block.

Relative to any point INSIDE the block there's no clear notion of which way "the future" is.

Is it up? Down?
Left? Right?
Forward? Backward?
