Do you really have to use every opportunity to shove your misogynistic, misanthropic religious agenda?Immanuel Can wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 5:03 pmWell, you don't like it. But that's not really the issue.
The issue is, "Do women 'like to kill,' in the sense that you claim men do.
And yes, yes they do, obviously.

This has nothing to do with any of that.vegetariantaxidermy wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 5:52 pm Do you really have to use every opportunity to shove your misogynistic, misanthropic religious agenda?
More than half of the babies I want to preserve are female...has that not occurred to you?
Abortion is overwhelmingly a victimization of women and minorities...so do you have a problem with that?
And saving life is "misanthropic"?

I'm sincerely sorry to hear you have a love of war and killing. Perhaps you are right that some human beings have never fully developed into rational/volitional beings and are driven by impulses they neither know or understand the reason for which they mistake for instinct. Perhaps it is a kind or arrested or retrograde evolutionary defect.Greatest I am wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 2:21 pm Do you think our intelligence will ever be able to override our instinctual love of war and killing?
For those who have never fully developed a rational/volitional consciousness it is probably impossible for them to understand that many human beings can and do choose how they live their lives and are not driven by irresistible genetic forces and have no interest in and would never participate in war or killing.

Education cannot control violence too. You use science for evil if you have the evil gene.Greatest I am wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 4:53 pmI do not see a change in our basic morality in our past to the present so I doubt that our DNA will foster a change.bahman wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 2:44 pmI think we need to evolve further.Greatest I am wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 2:21 pm
I agree that it is in our DNA as that is where our instincts are stored.
Do you think our intelligence will ever be able to override our instinctual love of war and killing?

I think it will have to come from education and less of the religions that create sheeple instead of thinking people.

I was referring to men only as I thought more would bring up testosterone, which I think is an important chemical in terms of creating aggression. That was to led me to use these. Apologies for the length of the last.RCSaunders wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 5:32 pmJust out of curiosity, because there seems to be a possible misunderstanding of your question on this thread, when you ask, "why do men like to kill men?" do you mean by, "men," only males, or are you speaking generically referring to human beings in general, both male and female?

The international courts that set the rules for war will disagree, as I do.bahman wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 9:45 pmEducation cannot control violence too.Greatest I am wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 4:53 pmI do not see a change in our basic morality in our past to the present so I doubt that our DNA will foster a change.

Control might be the wrong word. Guide might be better but I do not want to get sidetracked to the definition of words.
Some say that rules/laws are made to be broken and we both know that regardless or the rules, some few will try to get away with breaking them.
It is getting a lot harder though with our observing and investigating skills.

The OP never implied that women do/don’t like to kill. The side discussion on abortion is not relevant to this OP.

I do not even know for sure that it exists, or how useful it is to us, but with zipper science, we can cure that condition.bahman wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 11:10 pmI think you missed the important part of my message: You use science for evil if you have the evil gene.Greatest I am wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 10:16 pmThe international courts that set the rules for war will disagree, as I do.

That or just a drug cure. We know what drugs activate aggression and which can reduce it.
Those links a few posts above above are worth the listen.

Re: Why do men like to kill men?
The OP makes the baseless claim that men like to kill other men, and asks why this fallacious claim is true.
The OP could just as well have asked why vegans like to eat juicy cheeseburgers.
Men do in fact kill men. That doesn’t mean men like to.

Re: Why do men like to kill men?
It doesn't even mean they shouldn't "like" to, in some cases.commonsense wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 11:41 pm Men do in fact kill men. That doesn’t mean men like to.
Most people would concede that if a man is defending his family against intruders, he's justified in using all force necessary. And they'll afterward proclaim him a hero for undertaking a level of violence of which neither his children nor his wife were capable. So I guess the public "likes" it too.
Likewise, an aggressor combatant, a terrorist or kidnapper, a peodophile or rapist or attempting murderer...many people would say that these people forfeit the normal human right not to be resisted with violence. And the public lauds as heroes those who enact sufficient violence to arrest these sorts of aggressors...even to the point of killing such people. So again, it seems the public "likes" that.
On the other hand, the men who did no violence to the homicidal Ghamil Garbi, who shot fourteen women to death at the Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal in, 1989 were (it is alleged) meekly herded out of the room beforehand -- and not one raised a hand against the maniac with the guns. Some people have suggested they were cowards, (https://www.macleans.ca/general/excusin ... -ran-away/) for not having "liked" to do anything to defend those women.
It seems the public doesn't always "like" passivity.

Re: Why do men like to kill men?
Except as an excuse to evade one's responsibility for what they do and are, I have no idea why so many people want to believe their life is determined by something other than their own conscious choice. It used to be, "my sinful nature made me do it," or "the devil made me do it." Today it's, "evolution made me do it," "my genes made me do it," "chemicals in my brain made me do it," "society made me do it," "education made me do it," "my culture made me do it," or "my biology made be do it." The truth is, whatever one does is what they choose to do. Nothing makes anyone do anything.Greatest I am wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 10:10 pm If you watch that longer link I gave, you will see that we are basically slaved, to a certain degree, to our biology and chemistry.
Of course one does not choose those things which are merely aspects of their physiology, like the reflexes and the behavior of the autonomic nervous system. To some extent, human beings can even consciously control those things, such as breathing, blinking, and yawning. The animals cannot even do that.
The biological and psychological characteristics one is born with do not determine anything one does. Everybody's physical and mental abilities are different, and what they are able to do, what they will feel and what they will desire will be different, but those things do not determine what anyone does. Those things are an individual's potential and capacity for what they can do, and within the limits of one's own physical and mental abilities and the limits of physical possibility, there is no limit to what one can choose to learn and do to be whatever they choose to be.
