In retrospect, the lockdowns and vaccinations did
huge damage, economically, psychologically, socially and medically. Weigh all that off against any imagined benefit of so-called "preventative measures" for the plague-that-wasn't. COVID is now recognized as nothing but a particularly nasty kind of cold. As an aside, how do you know that the virus wouldn't have mutated into something far worse without lockdowns and other measures?

The common cold killed plenty of people before they had developed resistance to it. Anything that's new that people haven't been exposed to before can be deadly. Covid-19 is NOT a cold. You might as well say that humans and chimps are the same animal, or your favourite--apples and oranges.
The one silver lining was that so many religioturd American anti-vaxers died of it, still struggling to say 'it's all a hoax' with their last gasping breath.

I know exactly why all the conspiracy 'it's just a cold' nutjobs come from the US. Americans grow up in an artificial Hollywoodland, where everything is 'just like in a movie'. You always hear that after some kind of disastrous event. They say the same thing: 'It was just like a movie'. Well a pandemic is NOT 'just like a movie'. Any virus that was as deadly as they are depicted in movies wouldn't last for very long. A virus has to be just bad enough to enable it to be passed on, but not so bad that it kills you so quickly that it doesn't have a chance to find a new host. The only way to rein in a pandemic is to limit the chance of the virus being transmitted to other hosts eg via lockdowns.

That COVID was every more than a bad cold is actually the thing that's now "scientifically unprovable." And it's not any skeptic's job to prove COVID was ever any more than that...it's the job of the people who believe it was, because they're the ones that were advocating all the tyrannical measures...the doubters weren't. And nowadays, that's nobody...not even you. That us, unless you're still in lockdown and mask, and getting COVID shots, and hoarding all the loo paper.
