You didn't watch the videos. I can tell...you didn't have time.
And I am not denying it.
Watch the videos. They're very relevant.

You claim to be a police officer. That makes you their "peer."
But if what you say is true, the problem was not with their peers at all. It was the few who messed up. The majority were well trained and doing just fine, according to you; because you trust them to "show" how to do better.
You make no sense. Either the
vast majority of cops are good, and only a
few are incompetent, or the
majority's incompetent, and we need comprehensive reform and police retraining. Not both. Which is it?
Is the gish gallop working for you?
I can tell you are panicking.

I don't have to. I know what the Tueller Drill is.
It seems the videos are only surprising to one person in the conversation - you.

I don't know. Ask a mall cop.

seems odd to me: if bad cops are such a plague, why isn't there more reportin' on the subject?
here, in 'murica, the press is overwhelmingly opposed to law enforcers, goin' out of their way to paint all cops as dirty and abusive; the press is self-incentivised to find, and publicly try, bad cops
so: where's all the reportin'?
seems to me: the news ought to dominated daily by reports of bad cops...but it isn't
no, most of the time, in 'murica, the daily coverage has nuthin' to do with bad cops, which, of course, is why -- even without press hyperbole -- the rare, legit, report of a bad cop is startlin'
as I say elsewhere: the surest way to minimize bad cops is to strip away immunitues
I, not trained in law enforcement, am always held accountable: makes sense that folks who are trained in law enforcement should always be held accountable as well...not to a higher standard, but to the same standard as any one

All around you.
"Bad" cops don't look like they look on TV. They are regular humans, like you and me, who make bad choices.
And because friends cover for friends, and because humans pick their battles and turn blind eyes, what you (eventually) get is the
normalization of deviance.
Accountability at the bottom starts at the top. Accountability at the top starts at the bottom.
Cultures who hate accountability, call it "snitching" instead of "civic duty".

I like that. I like it a lot.
Did you come up with that in its entirety ..pretty much!?

Yeah. That's why he won't watch the videos, either. He doesn't want any facts...he just wants to "style."

If you want facts, there's a bodycam footage of Daniel Shaver's shooting.
You don't want facts... you just want to throw cheap shots at a topic you Googled yesterday.

Do you remember the axiom "An anecdote isn't data"? Or, to put it another way, "one bad apple don't spoil the whole bunch, baby."

It’s kinda odd that people now justify crooked actions within a group by saying: “it’s just a few bad apples”.
The point of the idiom is that just one rotten apple does, in fact spoil the whole bunch (if left amongst the bunch).
https://www.merriam-webster.com/words-a ... hor-phrase
A bad apple is generally understood to refer to someone who creates problems for other people, and whose actions or behaviors negatively influence the larger group. The phrase is often interpreted erroneously by implying that a bad apple is not representative of the whole, when in fact the term stems from the larger phrase "one bad apple can spoil the barrel," which suggests that the negativity is not an isolated incident.
