The numbers are changing (going up) from year to year and I want to be as up to date as I can.

I will do my research on this and get back to you.

Nah, don't waste your time...you're a toaster...we got nuthin' to talk about.

Over here you should be easily getting over 30mpg out of a car. My 2 litre ford mpv diesel does 35+ in town.
If your Yamaha is a motor cycle, 40 is pretty crappy MPG, better bikes could do a lot better.
Most bikes can't compete with cars, it's the aerodynamics, i.e. big fat bastard sitting in the wind.
I wouldn't ride one of those death traps for less than 100 MPG.
Given what it'd have to be to achieve this it wouldn't be any fun to ride. Me, I'll stick with low mileage, easily equivalent to a yank-tank, and the ability to out-accelerate pretty much any high-performance car out there and all for 3000 odd pounds if you buy secondhand, gotta love the Japanese.

It looks like, henry, that you ran out of arguments.

I accept your leaving the debate with your witty remark!

Not inclined to respond to Henry's request for the number of scientists, are you, Ned?

He told me not to bother -- you have read it.

I will do my research anyway and will share it with you. :)

"you ran out of arguments"

A review of this thread shows I made no arguments.

I made a couple of statements (largely ignored); asked a couple of questions (largely ignored).

*shrug*

I know you're just a toaster but mebbe you could try to be accurate?

No, strike that...not your fault...not your responsibility...

henry, I am sure that it is not accidental that you called me a 'toaster'.

Do you feel toasted?

Never mind, I am just teasing you, as the only sensible thing to do.

I looked up 'toaster' in a computer slang dictionary and it said 'oogly hoe' or a Glock pistol. I am more lost than ever.

You're a toaster cuz you've declared yourself a bio-automaton, an organic machine wholly un-responsible for self.

If, however, 'toaster' offends you (just an illusion, that ire, ignore it as your programming allows) mebbe 'small kitchen appliance' suits you better?

No...strike that...nuthin' suits you...your preferences, likes, dislikes, passions, etc. are all illusions.

*shrug*

henry, I am sure you think that you are outrageously funny.

Tell you what?

I will let you. :)

Wasn't tryin' for 'funny'.

Was zeroing in on your self-assessment and expressing a considered and deep distaste for that self-assessment.

As for 'letting me': never was a toaster worth jack shit at anything 'cept makin' toast.

You should go with your mechanical strengths and leave human pondering to humans.

'nuff said.

OK, henry, I have been bored with your posts before, but now you crossed the line of personal insults.

Into my ignore list you go, you will have a company of 'kindred spirits' waiting for you there.

Over and out. :)
