If you put a fifty year old trump and a fifty year old biden in a debate, biden would eat trump. There's no doubt about it. Biden is far more politically competent than trump could ever imagine being.
The best thing trump has going for him right now is how old biden is and the fact that he's aging much faster than trump. That's it. If biden didn't struggle so much to recall data and statistics when he talks, nobody but the dumbest of the white trash and the richest of the white bourgeoisie would pay any attention to trump.

How Biden's bad performance may backfire on the republicons.
Biden will be convinced to step down, and the dems will pick another nominee.... but not just any nominee. They'll make damn sure the next guy on the ticket can knock the ball out of the park so they don't have another Biden incident. Whoever they put in there will not only beat trump in substance but beat trump in style and performance as well.
The substance was good when Biden's brain wasn't stumbling, and when u factor in the number of lies trump told tonight (fact checkers are on the case as we speak), the dems still might gain the battle ground states IF they replace Biden with someone else. Shit even Harris could eat trump.
So u see the backfire possibility. Had biden NOT stumbled so much, he wouldn't be replaced with a Biden 2.0 who will most certainly eat trump not only in substance but in coherency and performance as well.
If trump wins anything, it'll only be becuz the democrat nominee was so bad. It'll be 2016 all over again where trump won only becuz nobody liked Clinton... not becuz anybody liked trump.
Also, a side note. Right now the entire panel at CNN is calling the debate a disaster for biden. This proves the impartiality and non biased nature of the network. If they were biased, they'd be making excuses and defending Biden, but they aren't.

"Biden got his clock cleaned"
Lol trump was the idiot he's always been, bro. He didn't beat anything but his own record for lying. Biden beat himself becuz he's too goddamn old and he shoulda known better than to stay on the ticket.

Why did 67 percent of debate watchers think trump won while 33 percent thought biden won?
What do they mean by 'win'? What looks like a win to a politically incompetent american audience? Whoever is the best showman, not who produces the best substance. To them, the winner was the one who didn't stutter and slip, not the one who's done the most for the american people. That's what a disaster the political competence and awareness of the american people has become. They're so far gone they don't even know who's on their side.
Uh oh he stuttered. I'm voting for the other guy. Trump may be a troglodyte but at least he didn't stutter.
Yeah what's important isn't women's rights, healthcare affordability, reduced medication prices, climate awareness, lower tuition or tax credits for struggling families. What's important is that we have a president who doesn't stutter.
Mom I'm starving to death and i can't pay my college tuition.
Yeah but Trump doesn't stutter.
Oh right I forgot. Nevermind.

I didn't watch the debate but I hear it went pretty badly for Biden. I think I'm going to sit this election out. There's just no clear-cut right choice in this. I think the Democrats ought to let Biden go and beg Sanders to run. They kind of owe it to him after the 2016 mess.

Bernie Sanders is 82 years old.
Find someone who isn't on his/her deathbed.
Here is some free advice for Joe and the democrats:
Joe, you've had a good run in politics. It's time to retire and make way for the next generation.
I know it's going to look like you're running away from the fight but that will pass.
Think of what you are getting yourself into. A long, tiring, election campaign. Another 4 years of presidential grind, frustrations and attacks on you, if you win. And an embarrassment if you lose. Who needs that at your age?
By stepping aside, you stop being the target of the Trump campaign. You can cruise your way to the end of your term.
A younger candidate can beat Trump.
Trump's age, cognitive problems, moral and ethical problems would drag him down.
A lot of people do not want Trump as president, even a lot of "Trump supporters" don't want him ... they're voting for 'someone other than Biden'.
The campaign could focus on democratic achievements in the last 4 years and the potential of new and fresh ideas.
There is still time to select a new candidate.
Don't let your ego stand in the way.

Certainly positively, because Trump is an optimist. Probably boyish enough to send Trump tap-dancing off the stage, while Dr. Jill led the invalid down a couple of steps before he had a chance to continue the metaphor and land flat on his face.
promethean has an excellent point.
The groundwork has been laid by those who pushed Biden onto the stage to repeat what has been drilled into him so often that he believes it.
Now there is an excuse. This accounts for the earliness of the debate.
The question is, why is everyone ignoring Kamalala. She's the VP, next in line to the seat of power.
Michelle for president!

It's quite sad really. He's had awful tragedy in his life. That can certainly hasten mental decline.

That and some brain surgeries, which is maybe what causes him to think that his first son didn't die from genetic causes.
The sadness is him being used as a puppet, as anyone with more than half a brain ... can witness.
He served his purpose. He took one for the team, probably without even knowing it.

The idiom clean your clock emerged in the United States around the mid-19th century. Its exact origins are somewhat unclear, with several loose theories about it. However, it seems to have sprung from the idea of cleaning as wiping out or beating thoroughly.
The clock metaphorically represents someone’s face or head, adding an extra punch to the expression. But some say that it’s actually railway slang, and the word clock was a Cockney slang term for your face. Either way, it’s never good when someone says they’re going to clock you because it means they’re going to hit you in the face.
