I left it at the age of ten because my family made a collective decision to leave. Yes, as that implies, I was included in that decision. Major factors included the violence of the place (especially, for my parents, for when it came to bringing up children) and the fact that I would in a few years have been forced to join the Army for compulsory service, to suppress the black population, which I and my family opposed my doing.
