Not mentioned … yesterday the US Treasury secretary, whose has been designing the economic war on Iran, said that in two weeks Iran will have no more oil to trade, thus no more income.
I have read and heard reports similar in implication: that Iran is not in a position to hold out indefinitely, despite the gloom & doom of Meersheimer and Pape et al with their 'escalation trap' interpretation. Wouldn't it be a strange twist if it turns out that the Iranian regime does 'collapse'?
There is a very odd but quite intriguing conversation on Rumble between Nick Fuentes and 'Professor' Jiang that is worth listening to. One, because it shows the strange avenues of interpretive thought by a rising generation, and Two because it touches on elements of the reasons for the conflict not ever discussed.
The truth is that Bessent might not have been able to get interest rates down even in the best of circumstances. But he certainly won’t get anywhere as long as Trump keeps believing that he can somehow convert his Iran debacle into a triumphant victory. And Trump will keep believing that as long as he is surrounded by sycophants who tell him what he wants to hear.
Sycophants like, for example, Scott Bessent, who is predicting the imminent collapse of the Iranian economy, possibly within two weeks. Bessent is right to say that the embargo on Iranian oil exports is placing the country under great economic strain. But his implicit prediction that this will quickly produce a deal that Trump can call victory looks no more plausible than his boasts about the bond market. https://paulkrugman.substack.com/p/the- ... tt-bessent
seeds wrote: ↑Sun Sep 27, 2026 8:08 pmSo yes, you are perfectly correct in proclaiming that my ideas are “useless,”...
...but they are only useless to the sleepwalking morons who are too dumb (too un-awake) to realize how ridiculous it is for a Jewish person, for example, not to understand that if they had been born into the arms of a Palestinian mother (a Muslim),...
...then they themself would be on the receiving end of the hatred that they and their fellow Jewish boneheads hold and direct at their Gazan brothers and sisters (and vice-versa, of course).
I’ll continue to try if need be, but I’m not sure if I can make the utter insanity of hating and killing each other over religion and religious divisions any clearer than that.
The thing about this astounding and unrealistic idealism is that it negates that there are genuine and important differences in the world. It negates therefore ‘the world’.
Horse crap!
That is pure nonsense derived from the fact that you have never actually understood the, yes, “astounding idealism” that I am proposing.
Alexis Jacobi wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2026 12:08 pmIn order for this vision you have to become manifest, everyone in the world would have to become the same, be reduced to the same, think and see the same.
That’s the point, Sherlock, our eternal souls are not only “the same” as each other,...
...but they are also “the same” as the Greater Soul of this universe, and should never be thought of as being “more worthy” or “less worthy” depending on what religion you have been brainwashed into believing since birth - (God’s “chosen people” my shiny buttocks).
And above all,...
(as it so crucially pertains to the theme of this thread)
...my goal in promoting "the universal realization of the sameness of our eternal souls" is not meant to create some kind of homogenous and boring “Uni-Culture,” for lack of a better term,...
...no, my goal lies in the hope of putting an end to us hating and killing each other over the incompatibility of our divisive religious ideologies --> most of which are based on mythological fantasies handed down to us from ancient minds.
I am, of course, talking about fantasies involving such things as "talking snakes" and "forbidden fruits," along with the need for a "savior" to save you from the eternal torturing that he, personally, is going to do to you if you ignore his offer to save you from him torturing you. <-- Make that make sense.
Alexis Jacobi wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2026 12:08 pmAs far as I can tell I do not think such a thing will ever happen. So, on this earth-plane, the way it has been set up is for it to be as it is. You imagine, or project, that it could ever be different and berate the ‘morons’ and ‘sleepwalkers’ for existing in that world they did not create.
Of course it can be different, you silly child.
The system has been set up in such a way as to allow its participants to “EVOLVE” both materially and spiritually.
I tried to make that clear in the two illustrations* that I posted on the ILP (“I Love Philosophy”) forum - available for your viewing pleasure at the following link:
*(Note: I would post them here, but as you know we are no longer allowed that convenience.)
Alexis Jacobi wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2026 12:08 pmSo again I say: Fine. If you have this vision you know what you must do. You retreat into an ideal pose vis-a-vis that world and hold it all in contempt.
I don’t hold the world in contempt, no, I hold “ignorance” in contempt, especially the self-imposed kind of ignorance characterized by that old (slightly paraphrased) axiom…
“...There are none so blind as those who refuse to see...”
Alexis Jacobi wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2026 12:08 pmSoon enough everyone dies and, according to you, wakes up in another reality so marvelous and wonderful that the dream dissipates into sheer blissfulness. And then what?
What the heck do you mean by “...And then what?…”?
You are proving yourself to be the perfect representative of “Swanson Twin Number Two” in my little soap opera titled: “Oh the Irony.”
...and behold yourself (twin #2) in your starring role in my fun little soap opera.
Alexis Jacobi wrote: ↑Tue Sep 29, 2026 12:08 pmAnd you exist in this blissfulness already, right? So I just don’t get what you are complaining about.
I already explained, in the following quote, why I am far from feeling blissful...
