Re: True Story of the Day
Okay, so yeah, no, all of what you said is a muddled mess. I finally read it all.
What you see happening is the Feuerbachean shuffle. There is no god, so there can be no "christian way" unless that simply means some guy named Christ's way. So, it can't be a goodwill and compassion bestowed by a god that guides her to forgiveness.
If she does forgive it's only because the thought "this kid who shot my husband must have had a fucked up life to end up wanting to shoot someone" crosses her mind. This is a general existential kind of forgiveness that exists only because humans are collectively aware that they're all mortal and suffering somehow... so it's a kind of built-in compassion that intelligent creatures aware of their mortality and pointless existence have for each other.
There is no atonement or washing away the hate here. She still hates him... but she'll tell herself that her recognizing this kid's problems and excusing him for what he did will 'get her right with god' and that she's doing so because it's the christian way. This is a kind of vanity on her part. She pretends she's struggling to forgive and that she should be thanked when she does. But forgiveness is easy when you realize there is no freewill. Did this kid have a choice to decide that Captain Kirk should be shot? Did he decide to believe whatever he did that led him to do that? But he knew it was wrong, you say? Okay, let's say he believed that doing this wrong thing was justified by a bigger right thing he thought he was doing. Did he have the choice not to believe this? Repeat, etc., etc.
So it's a mashup of confusion.
1. There's no god so nothing to demand that she forgive anyone.
2. She's sad that he had to be fucked up and shoot Captain Kirk but hates him nonetheless.
Only if she didn't believe in freewill would she be genuinely able to not hate him. And believe me, she's not intelligent enough to not believe in freewill.

Re: True Story of the Day
A dilemma one should never be faced with in the age of medicine but is because of capitalism.
I've had countless back pain episodes in my adult life, and except for the one time that required surgery, I've always gotten better. Sometimes just days, sometimes weeks.
What do i do this time? I'm going on week number five without being able to work and my money's getting low. Do i continue to wait and hope I'll heal like I've always done, or do i go to the emergency room and acquire thousands of dollars more of debt?
Some would argue that this is a ridiculous question, that i should be robbing banks after what I've gone through and that if i had any sense, i would never work again.
And i am at that critical point. When one is able to look back and assess 25+ years of hard labor with nothing to show for it but a broken back... when one is able to say "those six years in prison i shouldn't have served really set me back"... when one is able to say "who needs credit when nobody will rent to you because you're a wrongfully convicted lifetime sex offender."
In fact, some would argue that i should be ashamed of myself for going to a hospital for any other reason but to rob it and burn it down.

How to justify not having enough money to pay your bills because you are buying shit you don't need.
This rule only stands for the proletariat. If the amount you are short is less than the sum total of profit your labor/product produced for your employers at that moment, then you are justified in not being able to pay your bills. How. Because you did make the money to pay those bills... only someone took it from you.
In reality, you were able to afford both - your bills and the shit you don't need - because you did generate the money to pay for it all.
This is one way to justify property reclamation. For instance, I have every right to go hitch Bob's boat to my truck and drive away with it because i bought it.
p.s. if I hadn't started my own business four years ago I'd have already gone postal and would be dead or back in prison.

Forget about religion.
Even if a forgiver, or forgivee
Had never heard of Christianity
The inherent psychological effects
Of Forgiveness Dynamics
Would still be functional
Even without a tale to explain it all.

Everyone is special and deserves more than gruel, which is why Starbucks says everyone deserves a little luxury in their life. In fact, folks are so special (whether or not the feeling is objectively justified), that they take this literally so that bill paying becomes second, third, fourth or fifth on the priority list, and what exactly fills those other priority slots is self-concept dependent, which varies from folk to folk. This is why Starbucks caters to all the special recipes ... for special people. No more quarter-a-paper-cup of watered down coffee, staple of the working man ... or tea if drinking with pinkie extended.promethean75 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 06, 2025 8:26 am How to justify not having enough money to pay your bills because you are buying shit you don't need.
Too much to sort out? Whose fault is that?

You may want to get that tuner checked for unnecessary static.
Maybe it just needs a cleaning for clear reception.
If the receiver tech diagnoses climate change as the problem,
you may may want to get an up-front estimate for an attention overhaul,
and a contract that includes time for completion,
barring acts of nature.
Re: True Story of the Day
60-word dialogue synopsis, don't turn that dial ... :
The assertion was made that forgiveness for Charlie’s Kirk’s killer is fake because it does not benefit Charlie Kirk’s killer.
The rebuttal explained why forgiveness is not fake, which is, the benefits of forgiveness correlate with inherent human psychology to create a peace-of-mind psychological environment through which to interpret phenomena.
Your assertion has belief backing.
The rebuttal has empirical framing.
Re: True Story of the Day
True story.
The common folks live in greater luxury now than kings did just a couple of centuries ago.
Why? Never-mind the Age of Enlightenment that led to freeing human potential, that led to invention, that led to luxury for the masses.
Give credit where credit is due.
Give credit to credit. (How much is that candy, per month?)

This may be my crew comin to get me, boys. You guys keeping up with 3I/ATLAS? It's moving weird... its NGA is all fucked up. It should be wobbling from it being heated and emitting gases that push it around like thrusters, but it ain't. It's like the goddamn thing is being steered.
The green color. Shouldn't be green, they're saying. And it came from the direction of the constellation of Sag... the same direction the WOW signal came from back in the 70s.
The Don shut NASA down, so we'll have to wait before we get more details.
They're saying it's possible it could approach the erf if it slows down before passing by the sun.

See what you idiots have done? You've brought an elemental mega-dragon out of its slumber and now it's coming to sort us all out. Great work, people.

Ah, so they're doing a tour of the planets and collecting data. But for what? Are they looking for minerals, L. Ron's gold, fresh water, fresh vegetables, a new apartment, what?

The thing's got nickel in it, but no iron, and that never happens with comets. You never get one without the other. These metals are only separated through an industrial process. Theory: the ship parts are nickel, and it's creating a signature when burnt in the propulsion fuel.
The thing started sublimation a long time ago, and comets never sublimate that far from the sun. Theory: the co2 emissions were wastes being dumped unto space by the craft.
The thing actually developed its coma tail toward the sun as it approached growing brighter and from the front as if it had headlights. Theory: they're using a Cirreulion solar power harvester on that fucker and are sucking energy from the sun because they're low on fuel. When they park on the other side of the sun tryna be all gangsta in the cut (if they don't swing a right and come to erf instead) they'll either fill their power cells and split or drop some scout probes. So watch out for weird drone lookin things above your house in November.

I ended up being wrong about Taylor and the football guy. I thought it would end up just being the celeb dating fad where they fuck for a couple months and then move on to the next one.
A petite-bourgeois marriage will last as long as the those involved continue to make enough money from overpriced ticket sales and junk culture merchandise so that the drudgery of real working class labor doesn't exacerbate general frustration and stress such that they become easily agitated and fight often like ordinary working class families that can't fly to Fiji for the afternoon to have lunch because they don't get disproportionately larger sums of money in exhange for producing garbage music and running through some grass with a weird shaped ball.

And fellas... you know that thing about young women you can't stand... that thing where a talentless tiktoker thinks she's hot shit just because she's sexy and so develops this arrogant entitled attitude and rolls her eyes at everything saying stuff like "like OMG"?
Well, you can thank Ms. Swift for that. She's manufacturing the next generation of dingbats.

Re: True Story of the Day
A clever anarchist knows how to direct blame toward the State for just about any kind of conflict he can have with others.
Here's an example. Joe is running out of time and needs the job, and the only way to get it is to go online and fill out the application. Shortly after doing so, he discovers he's been hacked and his bank accounts have been emptied. Something happened when he filled out the application.
The State is now to blame for Joe's losses because it has created a situation in its society where a citizen must risk getting hacked to obtain a job.
Now watch this. When called to take action and stop this from happening, the State steps back and says, "That's a consequence of your freedom in a freemarket, something you have to be careful about"... and yet if Joe didn't go online and get that job, he'd be homeless and arrested three days later for loitering.
"The State steps back the moment it becomes responsible, but steps forward the moment a citizen decides to avenge himself of the crimes against him that the State enables." - Gustave Vonhamsonshmidt
Just a simple little stupid thing like that - the possibility of being hacked in a world where the State allows it, ignores it, but criminalizes you if you fall victim to it, lose everything and become homeless because of it.
Lol, how do you people even sleep at night not being anarchists?
