Yours reminded me of this one: Same Old Lang Syne - Dan Fogelberg

When it debuted I strongly identified with it. Not that we shared the same experience, but that I felt the emotion, and envied his story, knowing my situation would probably never bear the same fruit. Anyway, it's a great tune at any measure. Enjoy!

Yes, Hal Galper's talks are all about psychology and philosophy. Another instructor who is just as brilliant, if more unconventional, is Kenny Werner, who released a book called Effortless Mastery https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Un3p614XExc

While they use different methods, each instructor is trying to help students to reliably achieve a flow state when playing. When you play an instrument, after the first rush of love wears off it can be difficult to have any control over achieving a flow state while playing because of the defensive ego judging and criticising each bar of the music. A bit like a relationship, really. In performance you are supposed to throw away much of your critical faculty and risk making a fool of yourself and unselfconsciously throw yourself into it, trusting that your practice and experience will come through. Easier said than done when you have a lot of curious hominid eyes trained on you.

That's an odd coincidence - I never realised that we both play jazz influenced instrumental guitar rock. Small world, eh? Love the imaginative song titles ho ho. Nice sound and style, kind of spacious.
