Great, AS, let me know if you come across it stateside.artisticsolution wrote:Interesting about the repeating pattern Pluto, I will be more aware of it now and get back to you. Perhaps the sniffing thing is just a guy thing or maybe not done here? I dunno...but I will look out for it. One thing I have noticed about men here is they seem to take up alot of room as opposed to women. Like when you see a guy sitting he usually has his legs spread wide and arms out to take up the most amount of seat available....esp is it is a bench. When you see a woman sitting in the US she usually sits with her hands folded and her legs crossed...she appears to just take up less space.
In my youth...when I was looking to mate with a man in order to have my babies...I would sit in a feminine way...arms folded on my lap and legs crossed...but I was not aware I was doing it at the time...perhaps I was more timid. Now I am more confident in my place in the world. I have had my children, I have my wonderful husband (who is the only man alive who could put up with me) and I am not really aware of a "force" driving me...but I have to admit this is all in hindsight...I did not know this to be the case when I was young...meaning I was unaware that is what I was doing...i.e. being on my 'best' behavior actively looking for a "good" father for my future children.
I am definitely more aggressive now...and I do believe it is because I am not trying to impress anyone into loving me. In fact, I think I will try the sniffing thing...as I have already done the winking thing in my life...lol. I will see how a man reacts when a WOman passing by gives him a sniff...lol. I will let you know what happens...might be fun.

Re: Body Language
i sniff my children
maybe, perhaps, it's a pathetic habbit to some but, i sniff my children. i sniff the top of their heads. i've always sniffed my sniiffy's.
Re: Body Language
Any act of body speech, and so every sniff, is unique in time and space, and only understandable by the people present when it occurs.
What a person says does not mean much in general. A tiny shift in the tone of the voice can make a huge difference.
Not to mention all that we express without being aware of, by our voice and our body movements.
So perhaps someone tried to give you a pass, Pluto, but you did not understand.
The man might have not been a good conversationalist so did resorted to what in my elementary school was called "horse advances" (konskie zaloty).
Sometimes a person can honestly try to be polite but his body language expresses his cultural heritage, including lack of respect for women, and so whatever he says sounds insulting and offensive.
