Re: English is isomorphic with Reality: English is the language of the Universe
An obvious difficulty is that, allowing for minor inconsistencies, a natural language is a logic-based system of communication; the logic of grammar, syntax, punctuation. It is an established principle of computer science that any language can be translated into any other language, given a suitable ...

I can't believe that the moderators allowed the final comments in the last post. I will never use this forum again.

Re: Infinite Divisibility in Measurement and Fractals
Sorry, very careless slip in my first reply! I should, of course, have said "nullified", not "unintelligible".

Re: Infinite Divisibility in Measurement and Fractals
Further thought suggests that the theory of arithmetical infinity is logically prior to the theory of fractals, and consequently, fractal properties can have no determining logical relation to the concept of infinite division in its arithmetical sense.

Re: Infinite Divisibility in Measurement and Fractals
"Infinite divisibility is nullified by fractals for regardless of how deep division goes within spaces a self similar pattern always emerges."
Suggest you substitute "guaranteed" for "unintelligible"; then your opening sentence becomes intelligible.

"...their language contained no abstractions. Their language was metaphysical in nature..."
You do understand that this is a blatant contradiction, don' t you, and exposes your ignorance of even the most basic philosophical terms?

And all of this is thought to be a debate in mathematics, is it? I guess the moderators are asleep, which would be par for the course.

Re: March 14, 2025. ...Why is the number π infinite (π ----> ∞)?
I have noticed before this tendency to confuse "infinite" with "non-finite". Pi is of course a non-finite number; meaning that, its value cannot be stated with final precision, because it has infinitely many decimal places. And therein lies the clue, for anybody with a high-schoo...

Re: Science as Transient Truth
'Truth', itself, is SO SIMPLE, and SO EASY, TO UNDERSTAND. There consists; The 'Truth' AND the 'truth'. What is 'true' to some, alone, is the 'truth'. But, what is 'true' to EVERY one, is the 'Truth'. And, it is ONLY the 'Truth', which is FIXED, FOREVER, IRREFUTABLE, and thus what is ACTUALLY True....

Re: The reason why Christian doctrine is not closed under logical consequence
There is certainly much that is sinful in popular christian belief. For example, US presidents and witnesses in a courtroom trial persist in swearing an oath on the Bible, in spite of the fact that Jesus says it is sinful ("plain yes or no is enough; anything beyond that comes from the Devil&qu...
