I think it would be obvious if there were a conscious computer that arrived from simple collection of data over time. The collection of data is only a small part of consciousness. Am I missing something, or does the idea of collecting data over time as some sort of root to consciousness seem misguid...

Are some of us getting confused with time and the appearance of time?? I would like to address the appearance of time as a construct of consciousness. Time exists outside of this conscious appearance, but I would like to explore how they are associated. Anyone have something to offer?

Time is not consciousness. The sensation of time however is a product of awareness which is consciuosness (or a part of).
